Winter 22/23 Cruising

Image
We kept Evolene in the water for the winter, at Dunstaffnage Marina, just outside Oban. This allowed us to take advantage of the occasional spell of decent weather and manage a couple of winter cruises, albeit just for a couple of days at a time. We visited Loch Aline at the end of October and were surprised to find ourselves completely alone on the pontoons - we expected to see one other person at least!  It was a peaceful night and we were warm and secure despite the increasing wind that made the return passage slightly bumpy! Where is everyone? Nature’s deck wash We also enjoyed Hogmanay onboard. We took advantage of light northerly winds and tucked ourselves into Bernera Bay on the SW side of Lismore.  This time we expected to be alone and the only people we saw were a couple of walkers (the crew of Provident, a converted Brixham trawler) on the ridge line above the bay on New Year’s day. Anchor dram! Happy New Year! Peace

Honeymoon - September 2022

On a whim we decided to write about our honeymoon in Yachting Monthly, check out the July 2023 issue to read all about it!  Link here. We really enjoyed the process of writing the article and this is partly the reason why we have decided to start a blog.  It is too easy for photographs and memories just to sit, unloved in phone memories!
